Miming Ultima paired with Quadra Magic + W Magic does seems more sensible. Or we can use the Legendary way of KoTR because Omnislash deal pathetic Damage.

orlando doesnt even join till late in the game, so he cant beat the ENTIRE game alone. a black mage with math skill, on the other hand, can be a thing as soon as you unlock at least one battleground to grind on and is the single most overpowered thing in that game in terms of hitting everything with highly damaging attacks, but even that doesnt hit multiple times like kotr does. you need one of a small handful of skills or two swords to break damage limit in fft

Yes, I have played the game. Orlandu can, at most, kill about 5 enemies in a single hit if they're all lined up nice. Usually, you do most of the health of a couple of units, with one-shots being relatively rare. Besides the Calculator spamming Holy, bosses can also be well dealt with by using spells like Demi or Life Drain, which deal percentage damage, and can easily hit the 999 damage cap against some bosses, which even Orlandu would struggle to do.

Orlandu can beat the entire game alone, but so can Ramza as a Geomancer with no other skills (I know, I've done it). He's probably the best unit in the game (Beowulf and Ramza offer solid competition, though) but he's not not the be-all end-all of the game. Perhaps you're forgetting that his permanent haste status comes solely from the Excalibur he brings with him, which can be equipped on Ramza and Beowulf in their base classes. His kit may be strictly better than Agrias or Meliadoul, but don't forget that they can equip the Ribbon, Chantage and Tynar Rouge, while Orlandu can't.

Orlandu is very good, but there's a lot more to the game than swordskill, which cannot break the damage cap on it's own. Calculators are the kings of multi-target damage in that game, and Two Swords makes you very good at breaking the damage cap (try Ramza with two Knight Swords, and Scream to boost his speed and PA).

KotR has no real competition, beating out even level 4 limit breaks (I think). It does massive damage, to every enemy, takes only a single action to use, needs no preparation (Maybe some Elixirs or Turbo Ethers), etc... It's not exactly an automatic "I Win" button, but it's as close as the game gets. Orlandu is stronger than almost everyone else (If not everyone else) but he's not leagues ahead, especially if you've grinded up your other characters to have abilities like Two Swords, Move+3, Math Skill, etc... Orlandu is very powerful right out of the box, but you get him so late that you might have to power-level him for a while to get him to match up.

a dualcast kotr already hits 26 times, which is more than even the best multihit limit breaks, and all of those are single target. with enough hijinx from blue materis kotr can easily hit well over 100 times per target. nothing else even comes close at that point

Differences between characters are minimal. Even, more, doesn't matter because true Final Fantasy fans reach level 99 in their first visit to Mount Nibel... only killing Dragons. That's how must be done.

But KotR is the only way to salvation from Carry Armor and Beyond! Why even the mighty Sephiroth fall into knees when 13 knights unite and slash him 5 time each.

The story that Cloud beat Sephiroth is a lie, the true protector of the planet is our most reverred 13 Knights of the Round.
