Well that doesn't sound good at all. This all sounds like a possible memory error with the system RAM (not the VMU's). I'm going to advise the purchase of another Dreamcast. Hang on to the one you've got for spare parts though.

I actually have two dreamcasts, but one of them works even less often, but works for longer times.
