The load factor just boils down to how likely you are to have collisions, and has more to do with your data that you plan on storing. I don't see how that's relevant since it's arbitrary in a generic case like this. You can't talk about the performance of the load factor if you don't have an data set to talk about to.

As for me, I don't believe you know, which is saying something considering you're the one that gave the advice I took issue with in the first place. It's also the danger, front and center. This is stuff you should understand cold.
