It concentrates ones Chi energy in the muscles.

People don't like what they do not understand.

Who would have thought melting beach sand would make computers and iPhones.

Sand is better at computation than these carbon freaks.

I know nothing at all about it but purely observing it, the redness is gotten the by blood flowing to that area isn't it? Would that not be good for preventing or treating inflammation?

What a silly post. We now have the benefit of, you know, actual science, peer reviewed studies, etc. Skepticism due to the absence of evidence isn't something to be mocked. It's the very thing that brought us out of the bloodletting era. No studies show cupping, coining, spooning, or any other "traditional" Chinese treatments can increase athletic performance. If you've found some, I'd honestly love to see them.

science is great and all but lets not act like everything has been discovered already...we only recently realized how bad concussions are for long term health ffs.

I have no real opinion on cupping but it's a dangerous habit to automatically conclude that everything that hasn't already been thoroughly researched with dozens of peer reviewed studies by prestigious institutions is simple "pseudoscience".
