5 for me, it's the most emotionally compelling, and it just feels complete and cohesive, and every character is at their best imo.

3 is 2nd as it's Buffy at it's purest most lovable quirky self. (talking about the show)

I'm also warming up to 6 a lot on rewatches,

It's a coin toss between 3 and 5.
I like both storylines equally.
3 has more of my favorite episodes.
5 has Spike as a main.
I like The Mayor and Glory about equally.

I voted 3 just for Snyder saying, "You see me after graduation!" and him trying to shut up the post-ascension Mayor..
Winners don't lose drugs.
People say I have a problem with authority figures, truth is we'd get along just fine if I could smack the s*** outta them sometimes.

It has Mayor, Faith, and Snyder as regulars, along with classic Cordelia

5 is a close 2nd

4. Best tone, best standalone episodes, most of my favorite character moments are in this season, and I found it to have the most relatable themes throughout. "My boyfriend turned into a monster" works fine as a twist on real-life problems, but season 4 had the characters dealing with actual real-life problems, like figuring out who they wanted to be, finding relevance in a changing world, and growing apart from your friends and family.

3's a close second.

5 > 6 > 3 > 4 > 2 > 7 > 1

Is how I ranked them after watching through it a handful of weeks ago, iirc

I like the arc episodes in season 2 so much that they make up for the season's poor MOTWs.

5 >= 3 > 2 > 4 > 6 > 7 > 1

I like seasons with strong overall plots tying the episodes together, so the seasons I ranked highest were the ones with the best season-long plots.
The world is small, nasty and complicated. Everyone dies alone.

I marathoned the whole series (with two sizable breaks towards the middle), and for me it was:

2 > 1 > 3 > 5 > 7 > 6 > 4

I normally respect your opinions, but it honestly baffles me how 1 could be anyone's second favorite season. It's one of my least favorite seasons ever.
