Why is the NRA doing this to us? Making us live like this? They are opposed to any legislation that would keep firearms out of incompetent folks like this Florida man who was a danger to himself and others.

Police were called to the home to investigate a shooting and they found Shaw behind the house with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Witness told officers that Shaw, his uncle, grandparents and some friends were on the back patio talking when he showed them a .38-caliber revolver, police said.

Shaw told them that he kept one round out of the firing chamber to prevent an accidental shooting, according to police.

Witnesses then said Shaw tried to prove the gun was safe by placing it to his head and pulling the trigger, which is when the gun fired, fatally wounding him, police said.

What would have happened if this friend instead tried to prove it by pointing it at someone else instead of himself?

Did he attend gun safety courses?

He didn't treat every gun as if it were loaded. Given his age, I'm doubtful that he was even licensed to carry one, or perhaps he just got it and the eagerness got the best of him.

A basic gun safety course could have saved his life. But nope, mandating that someone gets trained before being allowed to own a gun is unacceptable to gun nuts!

Rules only work if people follow them.

Then he would have been charged with murder and locked up so he wouldn't be a danger to anyone else.
