You're argument is purely based on emotion. Any banana republic can give everyone healthcare coverage. But they don't get actual quality care because health coverage =/= health care.

The NHS in my country was great until the Conservative Party decided to intentionally sabotage it in an attempt to privatise

That depends on many factors. Whether you are among the few who benefit from those who pay in, whether it is still heavily mandated/regulated, unemployment levels, economy, etc.

Not being for some form of universal healthcare
Authoritarianism

This sounds like a contradiction.

Taxes are not authoritarian

Depends on what the tax money is used for. The notion that "I am breathing therefore I deserve you're money" is indeed authoritarian.

The notion that "We pay you a lot of our income in taxes; therefore, we expect you to use that money to benefit us" is not authoritarian.

Almost everyone benefits from it, since it's cheaper (each tax payer only pays a small bit per month) and, until the sabotage, provided a good quality. The Conservative party damaged the economy and employment levels too, thanks to Brexit.

What makes you think most people will pay into this. Almost half of us do not even pay income tax. What about those who could afford great coverage? Not only would they be forced off on a one-size fits-all system but they would be paying not just for themselves but other people.

Everyone deserves the right to healthcare. Do you really think it's authoritarian to ask that every person pays a few extra dollars a month in order to keep people alive?

That's wayyyyyy too complicated a question for him, as evidenced by everything he says.
