http://www.wndu.com/content/news/Deported-Eddies-Steak-Shed-owner-could-come-back-in-several-years-454521753.html

The Roberto Beristain saga continues. Roberto was an illegal immigrant in the US, and owned a successful restauraunt business. His wife, a US citizen, voted for Trump even though Roberto warned her that Trump would deport him. He was right.

Roberto was deported, and most of his American family has now followed him to Mexico.

It also appears that most of the Baristain family's friends were Trump supporters too, judging by comments on the GoFundMe page setup for Roberto. Many pro-Trump posts are there of family friends hoping Roberto can come back, but that they have no regrets voting for Trump, who deported their friend.

what's sad is that Roberto's pro-Trump friends are on the GoFundMe page saying stuff like "Well, maybe Roberto can just ask for forgiveness from Trump. Trump is a good man and will let a good man like Roberto back in, I'm sure of it!"

He was here for more than 20 years it seems (it says all his money for the past two decades went into the business). So how come he never made a push to become legal?
why did you waste your time looking down here? you just wasted more of your short life by doing so.

He did try multiple times actually, and spent a lot of money trying to become legal. Also hired lawyers and registered with the US government many years before deportation and tried to become legal. I assume you spent no effort on reading about this story before you posted about it?

Can I ask you something...? Do you actually know the details of immigration law or are you just randomly throwing out information that you believe to be true?

US immigration law doesn't allow illegal immigrants who enter the US illegally to become legal unless they self deport themselves first. From there, there's no guarantee whatsoever that he'd ever be able to re-enter the US legally. If you think this is a fair system, then fine, but it kind of sounds like you think there's some alternative solution

I thought marrying a citizen gives you citizenship

nope.

From what I know, if you entered the US legally, but overstayed, marrying a citizen does help you become a citizen

But if you entered illegally to begin with, marrying a citizen does absolutely nothing.
