I voted for Hillary despite finding her to be the worst nominee of a major party in 30 years or so, other than Trump himself. The system offers you either one or the other. Other choices can be made, but they are on par with the choice of not voting at all.

They literally didn't vote for trump- they voted for others who were chanceless. This applies to the Bernie Bros who weren't Trumpers either.

Not voting for X candidate is NOT voting for X candidate, even in FPTP.
