I think the ancient Egyptians would beg to differ on that.

They're all like "dude we had the pyramids made before that year, man. YOLO." (They had swag, it's weird.)

I don't even see how an OEC (like you seem to be) could have this position. You trust science on the age of the Earth but not dating human civilizations? Don't you hate cherry-picking?

Do I know that Egyptians have been around for more than 6000 years? Yes. And it's not like they're the only ones, just one of the more familiar ones.

I was wrong about the pyramids though. But people were setting the Nile around 5500 BC, and this is far from the oldest civilization that we know of.
