So uh, is there a way to be able to get the evolutions of pokemon through trading? or am i just screwed?

If you mean vba trading, you would need to open both of them and make sure you have vba link to make it work.

my understanding VBA link only works with GBA games.

Nope. VBA works with color games.

VBA link doesn't work with Gameboy Color games. To my knowledge, only TGB Dual works with RBYGSC.

I guess you could always Gameshark your pokemon into it's evolved form. Just seemed like the easiest way to me.

VBA does support "multi-player"...

BUT, it doesn't work on ANY pokemon game. Which really sucks. :cry:
