I decided to roll a Warlock after watching some gameplay on YouTube. Class seems pretty fun and not like the Mage(I hate being the class that Blizzard loves). My DK is not very viable in PvP other than regular BGs. Frost is a glass cannon and Unholy gets shut off really easily. My Warrior... Yeah. You know what I'm going to say. I don't like that. My Shammy doesn't feel viable at all as Ele. I know they are good PvP healers but I don't want to heal. And I refuse to play Enhancement because I don't want another melee class.

Also, are they viable enough? Something like Resto Shaman/Mage tier.

They've changed a TON in MoP so I think a lot of people are still getting in the groove.

In Cataclysm affliction was the only viable PvP spec, and they were very strong but had a really high skill cap.

I guess the aff skill cap is higher since they're the best PvE DPS but heavily nerfed in PvP now. Much less of their damage comes from DoTs now, it's all dependent on keeping Malefic Grasps rolling which is aggravating since it's a channel.

The most viable PvP spec by far atm is Demo, I have no idea exactly how much skill it takes since I haven't tried it, but they throw up crazy burst, plus that instant fear.

Demo rolls over bad players but has a terribly trying time trying to kill good ones. Watch some good players and you'll see that some matches end quickly, some go on forever. ALL of Demo's kill potential comes from Dark Soul + Trinket + double Chaos Wave (and hope they crit). There's all kinds of ways to mitigate Chaos Wave damage, it's VERY obvious when it's coming (as if the Dark Soul, which is currently dispellable/Spell-Steal-able, wasn't enough of a warning), and you have almost no damage outside of it.
But, like I said, against noobs double Chaos Wave is just free wins.

Destro is also very noob-killing-friendly.

I'd say any class takes skill in PvP.

locks have so much instant cc and defensive cd's that they are faceroll at low ratings

at higher ratings they have a tougher time but were still on 9/10 of the winning arena tournaments teams in the recent tournament if that tells you anything

almost every team was shaman/mage/lock
So many games......So little time.......
