Is it bad I play a spec I enjoy rather than the one that puts out the most dps?

I love my Warlock and recently hit level 90, using Destro all the way. I read that Aff and Demo are better for dps so I switched over temporarily to try both, but I just wasn't having as much fun, though my dps did increase a bit. I'm not in a serious guild, but if I ever wanted to raid I'm worried I'd be pressured into playing a spec I don't enjoy :s

Yeah that's pretty terrible.
One day dude, I'm just gonna get off the bus, and I'm gonna run in the woods and never come back, and when I come back I'm gonna be the knife master!

How do you not enjoy putting out the most damage you can?

Don't know. Watching dots ticking away just doesn't appeal as much as launching bolts at enemies.

That's why you go mage.

Step 1: L2p all specs.
Step 2: Get enough gear to raid in your 'fun' spec.
Step 3: ?????
Step 4: Profit!

When I tried aff I saw a dps loss. I had amazing uptime on all my DoT's. So I concluded the spec is just horrible.

Demon I saw somewhat the same but with alot more unneeded attention.

So I stayed destro and continued to top the charts and rank multiple times on wol. gg.

The difference between specs is massive on certain fights, but it's not like Destro is a terrible spec on its own. You're not pushing realm firsts, as long as you're not holding the raid back (which is based entirely on your personal skill), all the Lock specs are great.

As long as you're not falling so far behind in DPS that you're behind all the DPS and tank, go for what you feel.
