I joined an Uld25 run last night and we tried 1 light in the darkness...even with vent, full explanations, etc...we wiped 10 times and gave up...

What's so hard to understand about that fight?

Don't play competitive games like League of Legends ever if WoW gets you going.

Actually, I didn't mind really, I wanted to keep going...but 10 wipes shouldn't have happened, it was the same stuff every time.

Linked people didn't run together.
People stayed in the portal and lost all their sanity
People didn't look away during the 3rd phase purple beams
People ignored tentacles

.....exact same stuff, every time, despite being told what to do in those situations.

At one point the RL even put everyone that knew how to do portals in group 1 and said "ONLY GROUP 1 GO IN PORTALS"...but half of the raid went in, mostly people from other groups.

because the majority of this playerbase doesn't give a rat's ass about improving at the game. the "it's just a game" mentally prevents them from wanting to learn and overcome obstacles, they'd rather just give up or complain about it until it gets nerfed, or wait till they can significantly outgear it and just throw numbers at it.

Exact opposite of what happened to me last night.

Joined an Ulduar25 Yogg+0 run, 1-shot everything up to Yogg, Wiped.
"Wiped" again because someone ran into the room while half the raid was still dead.

Then killed it, no vent or anything.

I'll admit, I've seen some terrible Yogg groups so I was prepared for the worst, so that was a pleasant surprise.

I know what you mean...I'm always the last to want to give up on anything. To the point of, my guild at one point offered to race change me to a Tauren because I was "as stubborn as an ox"

Even if I know there's virtually no chance of us actually winning an encounter, I hate giving up.

It's possible. I did a PUG where half the DPS did under 10k dps somehow.

Joke topic

I guarantee that if this was a pug half the raid wasn't in vent, and I don't need to tell you that any 25 man Ulduar / ICC achievement run will attract the kind of people that don't want to actually do anything or follow instructions, they just want to get carried to a new mount

You 100% knew this already TC, why make this topic what the hell is your problem?
