Things I find fun:

High damage

Flashy skills

Variety of cool skills

Good mobility

Melee

I was thinking of making a combat rogue since I have all the hierlooms for one. Are they good at dealing damage in PVE and do they have the above traits? (They have melee of course) Thanks guys!

cleave will let you top charts on some fights but mostly combat isnt a fun spec to play, basically just button mashing

killing spree is either wasted or a liability on a lot of encounters too

Good, I guess. It depends on what you count as "good."

Fun, god no.
But I'm loving... and insecure... and just a little bit violent

What about hunters, are they fun? And what race on the Alliance side has the best racials for hunter in your opinion?
