Kezan II
Volcano
Goblin Starting Zone style

No combat, everything is minigames, gambling games, brawlers guild style combat, etc. Just a zone of fun stuff to do with non combat rewarda like transmog gear, pets, mounts, followers and such.

Oh yeah, I'd love an instance similar to how FFXIV has with the casinos and chocobo racing. It would be a nice place to relax and do board games, card games, gambling and races with other players. Gamble gold, make gold and farm its exclusive zone currency for cosmetics. For something similar to chocobo racing, they could do Alliance vs. Horde players. Alliance gets to customize a horse and Horde gets to customize a wolf or something. Feed, upgrade, etc.

Features like that have infinite replay value because they can keep adding cosmetics for more grinds like they already do for events like Darkmoon Faire. But they should do one for exclusively player vs player activities. Heck, I know Hearthstone is a money maker, but they could have integrated that into WoW and instead of crafting, have the cards drop from bosses like they do in FFXIV. It gives you another reason to farm and visit older content.

Good lord, that's evil.
I went and looked at how they implemented Triple Triad in FFXIV, and I fear for my immortal soul if Hearthstone ever comes to WoW in a similar fashion.

I've been able to hold off on Hearthstone entirely because it's a separate game, but if it insidiously creeps into WoW...

On topic though:
I want any kind of subterranean zone, generally very claustrophobic, cramped tunnels, with the occasional grand cavern. It would be a heavily phased zone of gradual exploration, opening up shortcuts and establishing safehouses.

We have just the things for it lore-wise too:
We've seen enough of Ahn'Qiraj, but much of Azjol-Nerub is not fully plumbed due to it being presented as a couple of dungeons only. The place is said to be able to support months of exploration.
The Black Empire of the old gods was largely destroyed, but considering it spanned much of the world, there should be pretty huge pockets left over for exploration -- particularly underground in old forgotten catacombs and suchlike.

This reminds me, I'd love an expansion with a complete horror theme. Something like this:

Land Types: Forests, Swamps, Mountains and Valleys

Always pitch dark in the zones. You start off by acquiring zone ability called Lantern in the intro quests. You keep it fueled by acquiring oil from quests, WQs, etc. That may sound easy as first, but make the lantern oil tough to stack by only providing you in small increments. Basically, sometimes you would not have the lantern working and it would force you to party up with someone who does. You can't see light from players who are not partied with you, but enable it for guildies without needing to party up as a QoL thing.

Have all mobs be dangerous to fight like the Argus ones, but not too stacked together. Also some invisible mobs lurk the zones that would be easier to spot with a lantern. Ghosts not be killable, but they run away from your light. Environmental traps and bad weather conditions should be present too, some traps not detectable without the light.

Bottom line - an expansion that forces you to party up, so you take turns with the lantern mechanic. Dungeons/raids with a similar dark theme and mechanics related to supernatural stuff. But I know something like this would require a good lighting system, which WoW engine can't do, lol.

Regarding dark nights, give the Inky Black Potion a shot if you haven't yet.
It's pretty effective; at some point they must've improved how the engine handles lighting.
The various weapons that give off light are really cool with this potion active! For example the Elemental Mage Staff and its lookalikes.

Can be bought en masse during the Darkmoon Faire, from that undead lady who sells cannibalistic treats.
