I never understood why people hate that game so much. Sure it wasn't the greatest Tales game ever, and sure it was nowhere near as good as the original, but it was still a pretty fun game. I enjoyed it, even with its flaws.

I think it was mainly because the Tales characters from the first game took a back seat for most of the game. That and the past characters have set levels whilst the game practically forces you to make use of monsters for party members instead. If I wanted to play Shin Megami Tensei or Pokemon,I would go play those games.
