Seriously, how can DmC's combat ever compare to this?

The sheer depth of DMC4's combat system is friggin unmatched.
Flying guards, star raves, double weapon switches...all gone, instead we get some shallow, casualised combat system, which is just slightly above Dynasty Warriors in technical depth.

I know this board gets pretty much the same topics every second of every day, I just cant believe how im getting this pissed off at a god damn game.

meh, i like all the DMC games
If you can't wait for that game to come out, freeze yourself. Then have a friend wake you when its released.

TBH, I would rather control Gan Ning from DW5 and DW7 for better technical. BTW, on the fly switching weapon from DW7 had a lot more combo too. Check this out:

Well, at least the whole air juggle thing is still there.
TBH I'd rather see smooth stylish moves come together than see like a huge cluster of moves all speedily sliced through together in some anime/dbz-like way like in DMC4. But that's just me.
It's a good change of pace. It's not like they won't bring back the old DMC.
I didn't hit you. I simply highfived your face!

The only thing I don't like about DMC4 combat is that most of the enemies get sent flying with a wayward sneeze. It was obviously designed around Nero and the Devil Bringer.

It's a relatively small complaint though considering it provided a much needed improvement to the camera and has style switching.

I'm not talking about how to do combo but some character are particular harder to do that's all. Those combo only require some practice to do. Well, maybe better than this game when you could do anything just fine for 1-2 hrs playing. BTW, Zhang Fei combo from the third video I think need some practice too. Gan Ning from my stand point, was pretty technical since his gameplay and musou was powerful yet hard to hit and require proper setup to play. His grab in DW7 and WO3 require practice to do consistently and I'm not kidding.

I like how he enemy steps and just keeps spamming sky star for a bit on the first combo. It does absolutely nothing, you'd never actually do anything like that while playing and the combo system will actually penalize you for trickster + E&I all over the place, but its because Dante's practical air-game in DMC is non-existent.

You can actually do that in DmC too. Just because enemy step is more lenient on normal enemies doesn't make it invalid. Were that the case DMC3 would be terrible because Killer bee JC is more lenient than DmC's jump cancelling.

Give it a rest already. Everyone knows the combat isn't nearly as complex as DMC3 or 4. It's a different combat system. I'm sure 99.9% of the people posting these videos can't even do half the **** in them.

I'm really good at royal blocking and jump-cancelling. Obviously not pro-mode like these videos, but still.
