DmC: Devil May Cry will forever stand as a shining example not to f*** with your fanbase.
With all the Japanese devs trying to be western and leaving their charm behind 1 series HAD to be the martyr. DmC vs MGRR is the perfect matchup of East vs West. Should they westernize to survive or can they make it on their own merits?
Im not saying the devs to just completely follow the fans say in regards to developing their game, but turning a blind eye to any criticisms from the fans and just straight up ignoring them like how NT/Capcom just did, is just plain dumb in their part....
It's funny how it's Americans who mostly say this. Instead of appreciating your own Western culture and see homages to your (well, our, I'm American too) style of living, you bash on any Japanese game trying to act Western. And your MGRR comparison is horrendously flawed. Kojima has catered to Western tastes since MGS2, possibly even 1. And the art style and horror elements of DmC are very Japan-inspired (See Resident Evil). DmC is an important entry, as it shows how vile and ridiculous supposed "fans" can be. Kind of reminds me of how there's so many proponents of cropping and docking Dobermans claiming it to be natural and the tails unhealthy. Lol. People these days always go against basic logic.
