It's official my faith in game design meter just broke by plummeting into the nonexistent negative zone.

I can't believe I live in a world where one can die in less than 5 hits from a boss, fight a Tyrant and Witch at the same time (AKA: Hulk and Forcefield Girl) and see people calling that "casual". That's in SOS mode BTW.
Your point? Doesn't make the game any less casual since dying doesn't seem to have any meaningful effect on your end level rank. The game practically hands you victory on a silver platter if you're losing it's your own damn fault.

Completion bonus is pointless, because once you have everything, it's automatically a SSS. This needlessly skews the hell out of the overall ranking.
To be honest, it's better than in DMC4 where you had to break all the extra stuff every time you played a mission to get the orb collection S rank. Only having to do it once is an improvement, although it shouldn't affect the ranking at all.
Lol that Dante gif says it all. yeah, getting SSS rank on a mission is damn easy. I actually used 2 gold orbs in one mission and still got SSS rank. Seriously, that's the problem when you don't take getting damage into account.
People are making a big deal of this games lack or difficult for nothing, if its still fun why should it matter. Dieing 475757 times, losing your shot at a good score, and being forced to replay a whole stage isnt fun.
