Oh you guys hadn't heard? The first week of release EA's most recent Sims game didn't allow any of its legal purchasers to play it do to a malfunctioning DRM, and then refused to refund the irate customers money. To add insult to injury the game still doesn't work for a large amount of people. It is so bad that it actually made national news.
