why didn't they simply do it themselves just like Crystal Dynamics?
if you don't play this game, you ARE part of the f***ing problem.

Because they wanted to appeal to a western audience, so they figured they might as well get a western studio to MAKE it.

Outsourcing to save money. It was cheaper for a small dev team (NT in this case) than for Capcom themselves to do it. DMC was always a niche franchise. They would never do this with Street Fighter or any of their big essential franchises.
They'll always need men like us. Those who are willing to do what others cannot.

my problem with this Westernization is that they even tried it themselves with RE6 and ended making a tasteless hamburger.

pretty much almost all their games. Did you know that Street Fighter 4 was not really made in house? same goes for Marvel vs Capcom 3. Capcom staffs were mainly working on Resident Evil games (5 and 6) this entire generation.

And yet they expend a lot of money on the Avatar motion capture technology.
Also, both Street Fighter 4 and Marvel vs Capcom 3 where made by outsourced studios, Dimps and 8ting respectively

Also a portion of their earnings have to go to Epic because NT is to incompetent to use something else other then Unreal Engine.
