Even the Pros know Capcom's 1.1 million number is the shipped number; they just argue for the seek of arguing.
It is very simple. NPD reported DmC sales number by end of February 2013 was less then 500k units. We all knows that the first months of the game sales number is the most important for it usually account for 55 to 70% of the games total sales.
With those numbers, how can Capcom reported the DmC had sold another 600K units in 2 months (March & April).
DmC has to sell 300K a month in both March & April in order to reach those numbers. It is saying the March & April sales number is just as good or better than the first months sales number of the game.
And we all know, it is pretty much impossible. DmC had dropped out of the Amazon Top 100 Selling games in a couple of weeks and the sales is extremely slow in all of the Gamestop I visited.
The only explanation is that Capcom just used the shipped number instead of the sale number for their financial report.
