Technically yes; it established how mundus' spawn was conceived.


Then again, since they were interrupted, the act was not complete and the child could not be conceived as a result...so

Joking aside, it was probably conceived before that event. It just makes that scene even more pointless.

Or after. It's not really clear. The real purpose of the scene was to establish that Mundus senses the death of Succubus, which could have easily been done without forcing the actors to awkwardly simulate intercourse while wearing expensive motion capture suits.
