Of course I have criticisms, and there are certain things I just..well, miss. Like a more interactive equipment selection(shops, intermissions, etc from 5) which I grew to love, only to have them yank them out for some reason, but I'm still enjoying it.
While I have yet to complete the entire game (BL2 is hard to put down for too long at a stretch :p), I've enjoyed what I've played. Does it revolutionize the survival-horror genre? No. Did it have to in order to be a quality game? Also no. I bet that if the names/characters were changed so nobody knew it was RE, but the gameplay remained the same, reviewers and players alike would have been praising this game instead of bashing it for not being "true RE"... which is both presumptuous and rude to say anyway. You know who decides what constitutes "true RE"? Its designers and programmers, those who own the IP.
I'm having a blast in spite of newer controls and the other criticisms. Pretty challenging for me on Professional, but definitely worth the purchase.
My only disappointment or regret so far is not having pre-ordered from any of the major retailers, so I'm stuck with default maps on the NA digital download until they are either publicly released or someone PMs me a map.
