I wanted RE6 to be more moody and atmospheric like Dead Space 1 and 2. TBH the soundtrack in RE6 is awful, TOO much orchestral and friggin trumpets, especially in Chris and Jake's. Everyone knows that music plays a large part in setting a mood for any genre, but in horror its even more important.
Try playing DS1-2, and listen to how disturbing and distorted the music can get depending on situation, like sudden spikes in tone and pace. It all adds to the atmosphere and tension of each level.
The worst example I can think of right now is the battle music in Jakes campaign. Everyone remember ch. 4, once you get on the narrow street and start fighting Javo? The music that goes like "PURP PPPURP PURP- PURP PURP! PURP PURP PURP PRUP! daa da dah PURP PURP PURP PURP"
RUINS. the mood. ALOT. Damn its not hard. RE4 had an appropriate OST. Sometimes I wished Visceral Games made RE6 since DS1-2 were so great anyway.
