For a RE game, I would take tank controls over RE6's controls any day. This fragment from Giant Bomb's review pretty much sums the issue with the later:
Leon Kennedy's chapter tries to reignite the old familiar Resident Evil feel with it's slower pace, though thanks to Resident Evil 6's more responsive control scheme it fails to thrill, scare or even remind you of what the franchise was once beloved for.
I don't know what's the big deal about tank controls but they NEVER effectively killed the experience for me. That's not to say I don't love fluid controls either so I feel like the middleman on this situation.
I can think of far worse games with an utterly abysmal camera (that clips through the scenery) and horribly implemented inverted axis shooting that will make you want to puke on your console. Old school RE in my opinion is not one of those games.

Resident Evil 6 has the best control in RE series. I mean why do people still like Tank Controls,it doesn't actually make any sense if Helena,Leon,Chris,Sherry and everyone else walk like a Tank because they are now Top Agents in the World of Resident Evil, you can't expect them to stand there for a minute just to let a zombie walk to your side then run like a tank to dodge them. It's stupid if top agents do this, they survive deadly nightmare and if they still walk like a tank then they really deserve to die, they are fast and smart of course they will run, slide, dodge, counter enemies attack and jump over them. You don't expect a Super Top Agent to wait their enemies get close to them just to save bullets and run away from their attacks or just stand there and let them bite, scratch, slash, eat and devour without doing anything. They are Super Top Agents and they have good reflexes and know how to use them, not always stick to their Amateur Days.
