The game tells me to select between two battle systems, 'Action-Style' and 'RPG Mode'.

What's the difference between the two?

Action Style is regular Dissidia gameplay.

RPG is like the Command Mode from the first game.
No, what's cheap is nature, making bears so much more dangerous than I. So I evened the playing field. With a door.
