I was reading the Edge magazine article, and one of the quotes was talking about how there is no voice chat so that the role playing is more real. And the guy mentioned seeing other characters and knowing that they are a VAMPIRE or they or a soldier. If you can become a vampire in this game, that would be me, i love vampires. As long as you get to be a cool one, not one of those ugly monster vampires, but a cool suave, quick, acrobatic vampire.
HAHA, no no, not Twilight suave lol. Just, not being a huge ugly monster with bat wings stomping around. anyways, maybe your right, but I have read ppl talking about here about possibly becoming a monster of some sort if you die alot, since they took out the whole soul form thing. we will have to wait and see..
Hmm, that makes me wonder, though. If you look at some of the concept art for the creatures and what not, they're clearly distorted in some disturbing way, which is exactly what Miyazaki loves (and which you can see a lot of in Demon's Souls). So yeah, if vampires are in Dark Souls, you can pretty much expect them to be utterly grotesque in either appearance or manner. Most likely both :V
And yeah, there is talk of the player's character descending into a monstrosity, but something tells me that we don't exactly get to choose what we turn into.

Hmmn Being a vampire might be cool, i could see Bleed Status effect suddenly becoming a whole lot deadlier if your opponent is a vampire and can drink your blood to recover health. Imagine having a permanent class bonus that causes health to regen every time you wound a flesh and blood based enemy and having said recovery effect doubled if you attack an enemy affected with the Bleed status. Hp would regen like 1% for every solid hit and 2-3% with bleed status. This would also make Tearing weapons viable in pvp, a tearing Kilij comboed with a Sharp Secret dagger and its 11 hit combo regens 33% of your hp!
