I saw the kings field thread and it reminded me of playing some old NES on consoleclassix a couple months ago .... Holy **** was I just that good at video games when I was 8 Yea old?!? I remember beating ryger, life force, blaster master, and cobras triangle numerous times as a child. Now I can't get past around the 2nd level in most, especially life force. I was getting raped.

Play Mega Man 9 and 10 if you want a good, modern NES challenge. They have some pretty brutal trophies as well. And amazing music. It's kind of funny how some of the best games in recent memory were intentionally designed to look and play like they were from the 80s. It's not just nostalgia I guess...games were often better when they were simplistic yet challenging.
