Painterly texture pack. You have the option of making armor invisible.

Even if you don't want to use Painterly, still make a pack with invisible armor and take that armor file out of the zip and put it in your own texture pack :) I have all my armor textures invisible cause I want to see the characters...

go to RUN and type %appdata% go to bin folder, open minecraft.jar using winrar, drag the ARMOR folder out on ur desktop, edit Diamond (or any armor) using Paint or Photoshop (Paint is already there on ur computer by going to accessory) save it on the Armor folder and drag it back in Minecraft.jar easy as pie

U will still have the icon/GUI but if u go to 3rd person view, u cant see it

For the love of god don't use paint. Paint can't work with transparencies and thus deleting the armour will give you a white sheet instead of clear armour.

I suggest using Paint.net, you can download it for free and it can be used to edit Minecraft textures.
