Get Optimine.

There's multiple walkthroughs if you simply google "Optimine."

I could not believe how much it boosted my FPS.

If you are having problems, I highly recommend Optimine, it is THE solution to get Minecraft running very smoothly! Setting Java.exe to High priority afterwards is the icing on top for a VERY smooth Minecraft experience.

Hope this helps.

I'm sure there's been topics like this already, but I still see threads asking for help on getting Minecraft more smoothly, so I'm making this as a reminder to help those in need.

Optimine is obselete, it has been phased out and combined with Optifog, to become, Optifine.

I haven't really been having too much slow down problems on mine since turning block drops off when I'm mining, but going to check this out anyways.

Not out for 1.8 yet.

It did wonders for me with 1.6 and 1.7 tho.

I hope they get 1.8 up soon, my game is running so slow with the builders NPCs mod, I need something to make it faster.

I heard a lot of ppl complaining because they had 30FPS, now they have below 10.
But what I still don't understand is how the hell do you play on 30FPS O.o

I average like 10 FPS. It makes the game unplayable. I've been looking for a way to get MC to run smoothly. If I can find a way to do that without buying a new computer, that would be awesome.
