(wonder if there's a rule on gamefaqs against terrible medical advice)

There are indications that naltrexone might be beneficial in the treatment of impulse control disorders such as kleptomania, compulsive gambling, or trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling), but there is conflicting evidence of its effectiveness for gambling.[45][46][47] A 2008 case study reported successful use of naltrexone in suppressing and treating an internet pornography addiction.[48]

also it's not a controlled substance so apparently you can buy pills off of, like, amazon.

take a pill before playing a game of dota, see if you stop playing after a month? even if you're not addicted, seems like you could save a lot of time by cutting out dota2

But then you're taking drugs because you don't have the self control to just not hit the queue button.

nothing with drugs (that don't have bad or unknown side effects) if they work and are cheap

it takes self awareness to diagnose your own weaknesses and compensate accordingly

plus if there was a drug that increased self control i'd be popping it like candy

speaking of drugs

i got on these meds that like, helped a ton w my mental problems during the day

but i have god awful nightmares 100% every night and i feel like s***, tired and sore, every time i wake up b/c i'm getting awful sleep and sometimes they're so bad that i feel physically ill b/c i just killed someone and junk like that, and it's 5 am and i'm not falling back asleep after that

so yeah. im stopping those but. sucks that everything useful has awful side effects

tl;dr my meds are like playing dota. feels good until you realize it feels bad

i think doctors will usually give you something else if you ask? apparently for a lot of problems there's like 3-4 different medications that doctors cycle through because everyone reacts differently to medication for some bizarre reason

anecdote: i used to take something that had anxiety as the main side effect, to the point where usually it was taken with anti-anxiety medication. but the doctor kept increasing my dose and i was like, i feel fine. apparently i just don't get anxious about people or things. weird

maybe the answer is to stop feeling guilty about killing people?

When she was dead, he got up, put on some clothes, and strangled their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Madison, who was sleeping on the floor. He strangled her with one hand. This was how Longo described the feeling of strangling a two-year-old, her neck so soft and thin: "To hold on to a little girl's neck is the most weird, uncomfortable, disgusting thing in the world. It tore me up to put my hands around something that small." It was so difficult, he said, that he could not strangle the two older children. And in fact, he said he didn't finish the job on Madison. He said he remembered hearing her gasp and cry through the suitcase as he carried it out of the condo and dropped it in the December-cold water, where police divers found it nine days later.
