I'd kinda like to read up on that without having to hunt down a thousand books.

This basically lays out a step-by-step guide to learning about TES.

During the very late Merethic (extremely late, even), assuming time was still a bit wonky and not quite linear at the time.

But wasn't there a story about Wulfharth against Alduin? Where all the Nords were de-aged? That could not happen until the First Era...

"Orkey, an enemy god, had always tried to ruin the Nords, even in Atmora where he stole their years away. Seeing the strength of King Wulfharth, Orkey summoned the ghost of Alduin Time-Eater again. Nearly every Nord was eaten down to six years old."

The Nords finished their migration from Atmora in the late Merethic, but that particular song of Wulfharth would have happened in Atmora. That places it in the Merethic, as fuzzy as it is. The whole "Dragon War" concept suffers from a square-plug-round-hole problem, being jammed into the timeline without much thought for how to make it best fit. The only thing that really saves it is the Merethic Era still being "wonky" in time. It was linear (as opposed to the Dawn Era), but could still be bent.

Two links. The first is the Dragon War book, while the second is a page on TIL, with a group of people discussing where exactly to place the sequence of events. I'd be much happier if the whole Dragon War was revealed to be part of the detritus of the previous kalpa that survived into the current kalpa, but as it stands, it has to be placed pretty much at the end of the Merethic.
