No. I take them off to change them, then for some reason I can't get her to wear them again. So now, Lydia and Muiri are walking around Breezehome half-naked.

Speak to them, exchange inventory, then give something that's better (armor rating) than what they're wearing.

If your married to a person who cant do combat, then I'm not sure whether or not they'll change clothing.
