At least until Bethesda patches it (so really, never). Specifically, the Blizzard spell. Why would I cast a spell that can harm me too? And one that does miniscule damage to enemies anyway? I love the ice element. I want to be an ice wizard. But Bethesda has completely botched this Magic school.

I don't mind Destruction so much, but it's kind of ridiculous how bad they messed up Blizzard, and they still won't patch it. That copy-paste master spell casting animation in general was just a really bad design decision.

Mechanics are focused of constant spamming of weak spells rather than careful planning of powerful spells but with cooldowns.
Spells are uncreative and just outright boring.
Bethesda tried to copy bioshocks feel and did a god awful job, the hand positions look awkward, the spells themselves don't evolve and change form in your hand either. And as far as magic is concerned, Dragon Age did it 100 times better.
