The best parts of the Dawnguard dlc have absolutely nothing to do with the Dawnguard storyline, sad to say.

It is nearly impossible to make a story involving vampires interesting.
Especially if they make the characters as shallow and uninteresting as the writing team does.

yea right man, dawnguard rocks.

its a good questline (i have only went dawnguard once though, Volkihar4lyf)

and the DLC adds a lot of cool stuff.

Yeah, wasn't big on it's story. The new items, spells and powers are great though, and open up some nice RP possibility. I've been working on an Exorcist atm with the new sunlight spells.

The sun spells are nice because they don't hit followers but they're generally weaker than fire. I'm not sure if they benefit from impact either because they power up destruction but are classified under restoration.

Didn't like it either.

Soul Cairn seemed like wasted potential for an awesome boss fight but instead it was just another dragon. Same with the Vale.

Plus, I've never really been into vampires.

dun has some unique shouts/attacks not used by regular dragons. if you let him live long enough to use them anyway.
everytime i think i've seen it all...
