how come npcs always tell me i look pale/sick?

what is going on? they've doing this forever and i wish it would stop. im tired of every npc telling me i look sick >.<

The same is happening with me. I am not a vampire.

Though I once was informed I caught the disease but I promptly reloaded.

You have a disease, probably becoming a vampire. You need to go activate an altar or a shrine somewhere to cure all diseases before its too late

They do it if you're a werewolf too. It's either "you look sick", or "is that fur coming out of your ears?"

I have never ever been told I look sick while being a werewolf in 80 hours of gameplay.

TC, if you are in Whiterun, there is a shrine of Talos right behind the babbling guy near the Gildergreen.
