Why do online passes even exist?!

Their reasoning is because when a used game sells, the company that made the game doesn't make any profit. However, the new user still uses the company's server for whatever online feature the game has, which costs the company money. So it results in two users for the price of one.

I would agree with this argument if selling the used game results in two simultaneous users.

The real reason is companies want to milk money from us, in whatever way possible.
