It's one of very few games I'm interested in for 3DS.

I actually really enjoyed this game.

I think what you describe in the OP would be an overwhelming success on the Vita.

:) Thats great to hear!

What if such a game is actually in predevelopment stages? Developed by a HK based studio set in ancient asia? Hehehe...

Considering it's one of my most played 3DS games, definitely.
They went out of their way to make us pay for features that could have easily been added as a free, offline, inclusive function

100k sales is good for the Vita depending on the game. NISA and AKSYS seems satified with sales so they do sell well. FE:W doesn't seem like a big budget game so even if it sold like 100k it would of been profitable.

100K worldwide is far from good.

Nintendo considered less than 250k worldwide as a failure.

Nintendo considered killing the franchise if Awakening sold less than 250k worldwide.
A piece of hardware is only dead when the company gives up on it. P.S, Indie shovelware doesn't count as support.

a fire emblem game with combat in the style of disgaea is contradictary though

the two series are entirely different as far as srpgs go

I was really thinking about the character building and support/relationship system of FEA rather than the combat mechanics of the game. Disgaea has a really fun SPRG combat system. Sprites are crisp and well animated, combat is tangible and diverse. It'll be nice if there is a SRPG that combines the best of both games.
