I'm wondering if I should just focus all my PSP and psone games on my vita instead of my PSP..it would be nice to have it all conveniently on one system.

Performance typically same as when they were on their native systems. Warn you though that ps1 games look pretty crappy

Variable.

The Vita screen and joystick are great for most PSP and PS1 games

Some PSP games suffer from artifacting (example: MHFU) or pixelization (example: Midnight Club)

Some PS1 games have such a severe speed mismatch that they are unplayable (example: Wing Commander)

Don't get rid of your PSP. Also, there are tons of great collectible and cheap UMD games available right now. Optimistically, Vita will only play 10 or 15% of the best PSP games.
If ballet was easy, it would be pointe-less

Even if the only psone games I care about are final fantasy, xenogears and chrono cross?

I just don't have shelf space for PSP games...I can hold maybe 16 games

Vita can play some games better than PSP, for example Mana Khemia
Some games will also be more fun coz of better controls than on PSP, for example 3rd Birthday.

I'd rather play 3rd Birthday with awful controls on PSP, than with god awful dub on the Vita.

3rd birthday... I'd rather not play that at all.

As for psp and psx games, so far I've only played Tactics Ogre LUCT and Vagrant Story, both ran flawlessly.

Why? It looks great, soundtrack is awesome, Japanese VA is amazing and the gameplay is pretty nice (minus the horrible controls).
Of course the story is a joke and the ending is a s*** on a stick, but overall it's much better game than that pile of garbage called Parasite Eve 2.

They tried to go after Resident Evil's success with the second game, I think. It was an alright game for the time. 3rd Birthday is ok too, I guess, it's just that I have very little love for Tabata.
