It's a good idea to play Ayesha before Eschatology.
I already explained all about which game to start with, just don't go for Sophie (most slice-of-lifey, worst combat) and don't start with Meruru/Shallie (has spoilers).

Whether you pick Totori or Rorona also depends on what matters more to you.
1. Rorona is more slice-of-lifey but has improved crafting and combat. Dungeons are outdated and time management / progression is linear.
2. Totori pretty much gives you 3 years to finish your mission and leaves you on your own. Outdated synthesis and combat, but the world is much better.

Dudage.

Buy Arland on sale. Don't download. Complete Dusk. Delete. Download Arland. Atelier sales are rare. I'd go ahead and get it now even if you're going to play later.

Right @gadgaurd ?

Slightly different question; If I already finished both Arland and Dusk, will I guaranteed to like Mysterious too?

Still not sure if I wanna wait until Lydie release to just play all Mysterious trilogy in one go, but the good news is Lydie already confirmed for English release, at least.
Playing: Chain Chronicle [JP], Fire Emblem Heroes, Atelier EschaLogy / Shallie (NG+)
Recommend me anime like Valvrave and Cross Ange pls.

Sophie is easily the worst modern Atelier game I played, so you may dislike that.
Haven't played Shallie and Firis so I can't comment on those.

the mysterious series is just bad. if you liked arland and dusk then theres a high chance youll dislike the mysterious games.
sophie removed all the character interactions and depth, had terrible pacing issues with its story, and generally failed to capture the spirit of atelier. forget about the time limits, its just incredibly boring overall and none of the characters are worth anything except pamela
firis is even worse since they opted into open world which means giant empty fields and mindless random quests. the game was just all around terrible in every aspect. this does not even mention the technical issues or looks either. the mysterious series is just a s***show

Shallie removed the time limit already, but I thought that's still quite ok, at least it makes those level 99 trophy requirement easier to get, even if you don't synth a good quality xp boost accessory (not barred by time limit, game continues until you decide to defeat last boss).

But what surprise is Firis also considered....., bad? Usually the 2nd game of trilogy is huge step up, like how Totori and Escha is mega improvement from (vanilla) Rorona and Ayesha.

Don't worry about "sets" as the license will be saved to your account forever (and you probably can download em 1 by 1? Need a confirmation). Buy the Arland Trilogy while you can, the price is incredible for 3 JRPGs.

Yes, you can download them 1 by 1 so no need for a 64GB storage, for me 16GB is already ideal space

The problem is that Firis is a slight improvement of a really mediocre-to-bad game, which results in an okay game at best.

We all can agree that Sophie is an absolutely adorable and likeable protagonist, but the first entry was a big step-down in comparison with Shallie, with some key elements like story, character quests and battle gameplay taking a catastrophic regression for no reason at all (the battle system in Sophie is absolutely atrocious).
Play under your own rules. Success will eventually come.
