I mean, this is the right logical train of thought Nintendo people use all the time right? Omg, one system is sold out, that means it must've sold super well! There's literally no way I can buy it! I'll search ebay and Amazon for the rest of my days to find one! Take my money Nintendo, c'mon!

But really though, today I was at a Walmart on a short shopping trip and I saw the case filled with Switches sideways even so they could cram more of them in. There must've been 15 or 20 of them. At my local Walmart they have a good 4 or 5. So much for "can't find them anywhere" here I guess. Now on the other hand, I can't buy a Vita or even any Vita games, so sad. Portable video gaming sure is getting overshadowed by consoles and PCs nowadays, that's for sure. Fears the 3DS is almost done, Sony not coming out with a new Vita, and only the Switch pushing portable gaming forward in some way. Quite sad.

What are you going to do with your portable gaming dollars in the future if things go the way they are?

If you're a fan of portable games, you better hope the Switch continues doing well since a hybrid is probably the best you're gonna get going forward. Or just go mobile.

But I'm out of gambling money for orbs and coins and trinkets to make my doohickeys go faster!

I also hope it does well, but the price point where I live is probably the reason it's not currently selling. $399 base console with $80 games that don't go on sale. It's hard to justify such a thing with $100 2DSes around and $5 clearance games along with Vita flash sales and cheap PC games (although they are not portable for me). For cheap gamers it's not a thing worth looking at and if you want to spend $400 on a console you may we well just buy a Xbox One X here, it's only $200 more. Or a PS4, a 1 TB of that with a game is $20 less. I just smell a lot of failure for the Switch in Canada.

I hear certain parts of the world have a lot of stock. US, and Japan though it's really hard to find one supposedly. I already own a Switch but feels bad for those that want to buy one. Seems like there will be another massive restock with Mario coming this month. Switch is selling quite well, and has been top-selling system monthly numerous times.

Not really. The Switch could crash and burn and I'd still have over a decade of gaming lined up on my Vita alone. It'd be nice if it does well and gets more games I actually want to play, but if it doesn't that won't affect my handheld gaming.

You're not going to be using your vita 10 years from now.

People who build beast PC gaming centers aren't using them 10 years from now.

i read nothing in this thread other than the title but...

no one wants the vita. sony doesn't want the vita. stores don't want to put the vita on shelves.

the vita is dead. why can't you people just accept it?!

i love my vita. i play my vita regularly. it's awesome. but come on, guys. it's dead.
