I played all the AC games and reached level 50 in both AC:B and AC:R, so I know how the multiplayer works and strategies.

I was curious as to what has changed this time around, e.g. old tactics which no longer work.

New abilities are added (like sheild) and new modes (like the hoard style mode: Wolfpack)

People more or less have the same strategies but with the new gameplay style, maps and abilities some have been tweaked or adapted but the core experience is the same.

Overall its better, but no radical changes

Yeah

Its mostly the same, i.e. play it like an assassin (stealthy) and you will do much better. Quality of kills is better than quantity

They've taken a few abilities out, like mute, as well as some game modes.

The only really different thing is that they added a ranking system, called the Abstergo Ladder, as well as clans. I'm not particularly happy about these changes tbqh.

There are a few other changes, but they're pretty minor. Like no compass in AA until you actually steal the artifact. Things like that.
I found that highly offensive

There's no more endless stunning like in ACR, since Boost Cooldowns was modified to end when you get a stun now.

Smoke has a larger cooldown.

The game is ALOT more balanced.

Baiters, runners and roofers still exist, however roofers are much less common
