They would have to completely revamp the combat system to make it more difficult.

Just the make the window for countering smaller. That would be at least a start

AC1 still has the best battle system.

they just need to make more than one guy attack at once. I think the insta counter kill works fine. it is jus too easy to do because they attack in turn. Force me to parry and dodge until i get an opening to kill.

Well besides them only attacking one at a time, the window for counters is huge, both in starting the counter and the follow up command. They really need to minimize the time (probably more to twitch reflex) and even remove the little indicator telling you who's about to attack, because as soon as I see that I automatically press B and they're dead a second later.

There is only one series so it's 'was' not 'were.' Not trying to be a grammar nazi just blantantly obvious ones bother me.

I guess they make it easy to allow the majority of players a more immersive experience. Honestly, seeing my friend play AC1 was embarassing. He mad eAltair look like a sloppy, clumsy drunk.

Making combat easier means Connor just looks cool, and that's what a lot of people value.

I wish they gave more stealth opportunities and even more tools in the stealth mechanics, but made combat much more punishing. This would give you good reason to avoid combat in gameplay terms.

But the argument would be, "Why is it so hard to take down five guys? Connor is supposed to be a badass assassin."

Of course thinking of subjunctive mood it makes sense and the title is correct.

It's good you're not trying to be a grammar Nazi, because there's a lot wrong with your supposed correction.
