I played DD and I loved the demo but after seeing DAO I have had second thoughts. I want another person's opinion on here to see what everyone thinks; DD or DAO?

Very different games. I have played DAO and DA2 but I like this game a lot better. In both games, you can become very overpowered but the boss fights in t his game and the relative open world are why I like this more.

Both :) DAO is very good. I have also played many of the different beginnings. DD is also very good, though if you have not bought it yet, I would wait until Dark Arisen (2nd half of April). If that's the case, you can play DAO now, and DD:DA when it comes out.

I guess I will end up getting both, but one before the other haha. Also, does Dark Arisen need DD to play or is it stand alone?

Dark arisen is stand alone in that its the original with a bit more added on so you don't need the original to play it

So when Arisen comes out it won't be worth buying the original Dragons Dogma

Not really, since Dark Arisen will include the original game + DLC + the full Dark Arisen expansion along with some tweaks to improve the game.

Not bad then. I saw it for 19.99 at Game. The preorder sounds most worth it :D

Although, if you didn't play the original, then you will lose out on some bonus content such as the additional 100k Rift Crystals which will be important to upgrading gear.

If you're going to get DAO, I recommend getting the utimate version. It comes with all the dlc, which is well worth having imo.

Ultimate version cost me 17 back near the end of 2011 iirc, so it should hopefully still be around that if not lower.
