I just have bad visions of showing up and me not being in the system, maybe the idiot that served me back in September screwed up in putting me in the system, or they run out of stock or someone gives a walk-in my console... you never know with that store, man. Ruins the anticipation because you never know if you'll actually get what you ordered.

What store, TC?

I know I'm guaranteed one, because Walmart's system is physically incapable of ringing up a Wii U preorder that the store is not slated to get, and their preorder units won't hit the sales floor.

Im a little worried because I ordered it from those reservation card things at Target (which i have never done b4) and I don't know how they will know i reserved it because it doesn't look like it to goes in the system, just that a card was bought. Im going to get there an hour b4 they open just to see if any line starts and to be sure I do get mine.

I preordered my Wii with a $50 deposit 6 years ago, showed up at Toys R Us right at opening to find they sold them all. At many places, despite what they tell you, it's first come first serve. I'd wait outside if I were you.

I never worry about any of my stuff at my Gamestop. I'm in there in A LOT of my spare time, just playing and talking with all the employees there. I've been going to the same one for over six years...they know me, and they know me well.

The way Target's system works is they keep track of how many cards were bought, then set aside that many systems behind the counter for pre-orders. It generally works pretty well, so long as the Electronics Specialist, Executive Team Lead/Store Team Lead and Electronics Team Members are all on the same page.

Any weak links, though, and bye-bye, preorder.

I run my Targets electronics department, and can tell you how the cards work. Basically, when you buy the card it is sent up to a system, and right before launch we pull up a spreadsheet of how many consoles or games we need to set aside. At that point, you'll get the system and/or games that are specified when you hand us your reserve card. You'll also get a $5 gift card.

I was the very first person to pre-order at my GS location and will be there 30-45 mins before they open on the 18th. From the words of the manager of that location... "the only way you won't be getting a Wii U at launch is if Nintendo doesn't ship us any consoles"

Not very worried.

I know what you mean. It's like my Walmart didn't even know how many they were getting in.
