So a bit of the sides and bottom of my screen are cut off on the main menu and in games. I can fix this on the Eshop and Miiverse by adjusting the screen size settings, but I see no way to do this universally in the console settings. Is there some way I can fix this?

Nintendo is still getting their heads around the whole cutting edge 720P thing.

Give them time... a patch is coming.

I had the same issue and was ready to pull my hair out but the issue actually lies with your TV. Adjust your TV's aspect ratio from what is likely set as "automatic" to something like "high definition" (those were the names of the ratios on my particular television brand, Philips).

For me, it stopped the stretching that was cutting the extreme left and right of the screen off.

There are settings in the eShop and Miiverse to adjust this, those are the only places that I had the problem. If you're having it elsewhere you need to go into the system settings.

Well for whatever reason it seems Sony decided it was unnecessary to include resolution settings on my television. I hope there is a patch, as every other console I've had has not had this problem.

Sony was correct... you should not require resolution settings. Nintendo just takes current technology and takes a wide right turn instead of getting on board with what has already been laid out for them.

I have a Samsung TV and I had to set the P.Size (picture size) on my TV remote to "Just Scan" instead of "16:9" and it's perfect now. I've never had this problem with my PS3, 360 or Wii, but whatever. *shrigs shoulders*
