in 2005 or so, graphics were good but it was clear they could be improved a lot more.

Well we're in 2012 now and honestly, graphics won't be much better than they are now. I believe in e3 of this year when watch dogs was shown on a pc version, it looked incredible, but not exactly much better than anything we've seen before.

People are expecting graphics of next gen, including the wii u, to have graphics that just cannot get any better. I think technology has reached its limit on this planet.

There's already better graphics than PS3/360/WiiU. It's called a PC. It's just not exactly very affordable to have that quality of graphics.

People have said that a lot before. I wouldn't be surprised if new games come out with graphics we never thought could be so good.

Graphics have hit the uncanny valley, it will take a lot of power and man hours to get past that barrier.

I think the real situation is that graphics cannot get much better *on a budget* for *home consoles* that the majority (both consumers and devs) can *afford*.

I'm going to agree/disagree, they can improve technology and games. The technological limitations will only really exist in console form due to costs. Because they still need to make a profit on a device that can never be upgraded Hardware wise that's last them around 5-10 years at best.

Graphic wise we could in theory reach a point to where they are on par with CG or Avatar like visuals but it won't happen for a while.

Trust me we will have virtual reality and sooner than society is probably ready for it. Who knows when we will get there but at some point human beings will be able to emulate real life or fictional life through computers.

To think otherwise is unfair to the testaments of the human mind that we already see in our daily lives today.
