i would like to know too, i have a classic controller pro, it would save me having to for out 40 just to play wii u games with a controller, higly unlikely though.

No, it unfortunately does not. When the Wii U is in Wii mode, which is needed for Wii games and virtual console, the Wii U will only recognize Wiimote signals like the Wii.

Yes, the Wii U does support Classic Controller, but not every Wii U game will support it.

You can however get a Classic Controller that's modeled after the Wii U Pro controller. It doesn't need to be connected to Wiimote.

Cool, but I wonder just how long the battery life is compared to the Wii U Pro Controller at 80 hours.

it still wouldn't work in wii u mode though.

Like I said, it's a glorified classic controller. Wii U supports classic controllers, but not every Wii U GAME will support it.
